Efficacy and Safety of a New Mechanical Balloon-Based Flow Diverter in the Treatment of Intracranial Aneurysms

Objective

To describe the use of multiple telescoping Lattice flow diverters for endovascular reconstruction of a long-segment giant petrous and cavernous carotid aneurysm.

Population

A 24-year-old male presented with headaches and left facial numbness. Imaging demonstrated a left giant thrombosed dissecting carotid aneurysm involving the petrous and cavernous segments of the internal carotid artery.

Type of Study

Single-patient video case report.

Endpoint

Technical feasibility, procedural safety, symptom resolution, and angiographic remodeling at follow-up. 3, 6-month follow-up

Angiographic images and treatment results for telescoping flow diverter placement

Conclusion

This case demonstrates the technical feasibility of using multiple telescoping Lattice flow diverters for reconstruction of a long-segment giant petrous and cavernous carotid aneurysm. Complete aneurysm coverage, absence of reported complications, symptom resolution, and 6-month angiographic remodeling were observed.
